Finished reading: Before We Forget Kindness by Toshikazu Kawaguchi 📚

This is the fifth book in the “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” series. My wife bought the first on a whim, and ever since we’ve been playing a game where we buy each book in the series in a different bookstore. That’s been fun and I think I’ll do it for other series.

Unfortunately, this series has become pretty formulaic. This was my least favorite of the five. I enjoyed the last vignette, but getting to that point was a slog. I recommend the first 2 or 3 books, though. It’s a good setting and a clever idea that works well for the sorts of stories that Kawaguchi tells.
